Prof. U.Ve. Dr. Gomatam Seshadri Ramkumar is an Acharya Purusha hailing from Gomatam clan in which Swami Manavala Mamunigal was born. He learnt basic texts of Santana dharma and Sri Vaishnavam from his family elders and learned gurus during his school and early college years. He teaches Aruliseyal and Vedas to interested through organizations such as Charlotte-based VDSS.
Of particular interest is that he provides Niyamadhyayanam of Veda to his son, which is hailed as important duty of a father and acharya. He offers "Sri Ramayan and Art of Living," lectures at the Hindu Temple of Lubbock on every Sunday. He serves as an Adjunct Professor at the At this university, International Hindu University, USA where he teaches Sanatana Dharma 101 course at graduate level. He guides PhD students on topics related to Sanatana dharma. He regularly contributes articles on Sri Vaishnavam in Bhakti Nivedana magazine published by HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Trust.
Professionally he is a full tenured professor of advanced materials at Texas Tech University. In this role, he is active in promoting collaboration between Bharath and United States. Importantly, he is credited in creating awareness in the technology behind protective materials such as face masks that saved lives during COVID-19. For his two decades of this effort, India's leading association, Textile Association (India) has honored him with Honorary Membership. This accolade is the highest award by the association which has been bestowed to people like Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, known as father of Indian space science.
