Sudarshanam is the most power weapon of the Lord supreme Vishnu. Since Vishnu himself resides in the sudarshana chakram it is also known as Chakrathazhwar. Vishnu is always seen with his sudarshanam ( discus/chakram) in his right back hand and Sankam the conch in his left backhand. The chakram is used for the ultimate protection of his devotees from the harmful deeds of the asuras – bad people. Susarshanam has the brightness of a billion suns as mentioned in the Panchayudha stothram – “Sudarshanam Bhaskara Koti thulyam”. In temples where the Sudarshana chakram is depicted in use as in Sri Ranganatha temple Srirangam it is known as Prayoga chakram – ready to use for the protection of his bhakthas.
Sudarsana Chakra is the divine weapon of Lord Vishnu, representing divine vision, protection, and righteousness. Worshiping Sudarsana Chakra removes evil forces, grants victory, and protects devotees from dangers. This stotram is often chanted for spiritual strength, health, and success in endeavors. It is also believed to remove doshas (negative karma), cure diseases, and bring prosperity.
The stotram consists of eight verses (Ashtakam). Each verse describes the power, brilliance, and protective nature of Sudarsana Chakra. The stotram glorifies Sudarsana as a fierce protector of devotees and the destroyer of evil forces.
